Ahh, global warming. Ya gotta love it.

So, I'm sitting here writing this in a t-shirt and jeans, windows open, letting in the warm breeze. You'd think it was April, but no, it's December, and for the past 5 days or so the high temperature has been in the mid 70's with lots of sunshine. It's freakish, but I don't mind. It's amazing how much weather affects my mood. Last week I was feeling down, starting to get that hankerin' to go to Jamaica that I usually get this time of year, suffering from lack of sunlight as I was. Then the first day of 70 degree weather hits and I'm ENERGIZED! I'm HAPPY! I'm WARM!!

Funny how down I get in the winter, when, after all, I live in GEORGIA. That's the first state directly north of Florida - how bad can the winter get? And actually, it really doesn't get that bad. Winters here are usually pretty mild. So I can only imagine what a big ball of human misery I would be if I lived farther north.

Of course, the trade off is the misery of summer in GEORGIA. Especially July, August, September. It's like walking around in warm soup, breathing it in, getting it in your clothes. Even going to a swimming pool or lake is no relief, since the water has warmed to the same temperature as the air. Icky. Me, I just keep inside my air conditioned bubble (house, car, Target) and leave the rest of the world to sweat it out.

What I need is a land where the temps never go above 75 and never fall below 65, and where the humidity stays just right. I think they call this land Hawaii, but I'm not sure.

Looks like the weather will be returning to "normal" (i.e. highs in the 50's) in the next few days.
Winter returns. And so do my blues.

Me, too. Ben is convinced I have "SAD" which is Seasonal Affective Disorder. I prefer warm, too, but I think it is about the lack of light. I have a weird lamp if you ever want to borrow it.... in Spring or Summer. (-:
